QUALITATIVE CHARACTERISTICS AND GENOMIC ANALYSIS OF WHEAT GENOTYPES IN IRAQ

The breeding material comprising 17 Iraqi wheat cultivars belongs to three different types, i.e., a) salinity-tolerant (Dajla, Furat, 1H, 2H, 2N, 3H, 3N, and 7H), b) drought-tolerant (Sham-6 Orok), c) local (Iraq, Iba99, Iba95, Abu Ghraib-3, Adnanin, Tamoze, Alrashid) underwent qualitative characteristics genomic analysis studies in 2021-2022, at the Biotechnology Research Center, Al-Nahrain University, Baghdad, Iraq. Measuring percentage of protein, wet dry gluten, molecular fingerprinting used randomly amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) technique with six primers, traits estimation using a dendrogram. highest protein (24.5%), (52.7%), gluten (27.3%) emerged from genotype Dajla. However, recorded lowest percentages (32.52%) (7.62%) appeared Iba99. Aadnania, Tamoze gave content 9.45, 10.34, 10.54, respectively. cluster divided genotypes into two large groups. Amplification all 365 loci primers. Fragments‟ size ranged 100 bp 2000 kb. number bands (73) was primer Pr-5, while (48) Pr-1.
